Swann's Furniture & Design has proudly served its customers for over a century. Our company was founded by T.E. Swann in 1895 in downtown Tyler, Texas. In our early days, merchandise shipments were received by rail car and our deliveries were made by horse and mule drawn wagons. The company has spanned five generations with Elam Swann IV and Franklin Swann V currently representing the fourth and fifth generations of family leadership.

Although many things have changed over the past century, our founding principles, to offer quality home furnishings with unmatched customer service to our community, have never been stronger. Swann's has always offered its customers the highest quality home furnishings at the lowest price guaranteed. Customers regularly share stories of furniture they purchased many decades ago still performing beautifully in their homes.

T.E. Swann's commitment to the community launched a legacy that proudly continues today. T.E. and his wife, Carrie, personally sponsored a group of deserving young men each year to attend Camp Audubon in Estes Park, Colorado. In all, 93 boys were sent to camp to climb mountains and experience the outdoors. T.E. also established a student loan fund for women whereby many deserving girls were sent to college. Mr. and Mrs. Swann made several large contributions to Tyler churches including a land donation to Marvin United Methodist Church for the erection of a church hall. A title given to Mr. Swann by loving friends was "builder of homes and men."

Swann's continues its founder's legacy through support of local youth programs, charitable giving, and leadership roles with many charitable organizations. Swann's supports local events each year such as the Cattle Barron's Gala, Tyler Heart Ball, and Mistletoe and Magic. Swann's supports Elam's younger son Lewis, who founded the Christian charity sight.org, a ministry based in Togo, West Africa providing sight-restoring cataract treatments and much-needed education in modern farming.
